“Women have been taught that, for us, the earth is flat, and that if we venture out, we will fall off the edge.  ~Andrea Dworkin.

Ayaan hirsi Ali has cross those boundaries as a woman fighting to protect and defend the rights of women in the west from oppression justified by religion and culture. Today so many people idolize celebrities when we really should be admiring the people who fight for our rights as human beings. Ayaan hirsi does not do it for money or fame, but for her love to protect women. I pick Ayaan hirsi Ali as my fearless women because she embodies the word fearless just by the expressions of her face in many of her photos. When I read about her I found out that she is above and beyond fearless, she is an Angel sent from god to the women she helps to protect. I instantly made a connection with her because of what she fights for. I think that when you admire a women you have to have the same passion for what she is trying to change. One of the things that Ayaan Hirsi Ali fights against is women genital mutilation. Women genital mutilation is a procedure that involves removing partial or total removal of the external female genitalia. This is often done in western countries to girls between 4 and 14 to ensure that their virginity until marriage. I have always been against this and I’m proud to know that there is a women out their fighting this problem one step at a time.

Ayaan Hirsi Ali exemplifies a women as change agent because she has no time to sit back and wait for someone to help these women. She has accomplish so much as a women, in 2003 she was elected a member of the house of representative, the lower house of the Dutch parliament. She represented the People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy. Ayaan hirsi Ali is a female activist, writer and politician who is not afraid to have critical views against Islam. She even wrote a movie called Submission which lead to receiving death threats to her and the director. Even with that she still did not see fear, unfortunately for the director he was murdered. All of those things that she accomplished makes her a women as change agent. What crowns her officially is her organization that was founded in 2007 called AHA foundation.

Ali embodies a leader and to be a leader you must have a passion, a drive, and self motivation. One of her great qualities is her that she cares, she cares for women not only in western countries but all over the world. She uses her foundation to spread the word globally. Ayaan Hirsi Ali does not have time to sleep her mind is always in motion.
